There are many writing submission sites that you might want to explore including: Suite101, About.com, Ezinearticles, Ehub, Ehow, Textbroker, Associated Content, Constant Content, Bukisa, Squidoo, Helium, Xomba, Hubpages, PayPerPost, Various travel guides, Forums, Flixya, ZestBit & Howhub etc.
The list is almost endless and perhaps it is best to join one and build from there!
Factors to consider include the monetization model & content ownership.

Other considerations include: Upfront Payments, Pay Per Click, Pay Per Ad Click, Writer Referrals, Show and Sell, Affiliate Programs and Bidding.
Much of the effort that you put into your writing can be complimentary to your existing blog, social media page or website.
