See if one of the manila travel sites top10 excites you!

The top10 manila travel sites from a city that has a rich history and a bustling populous that beckons each and every visitor to explore. The following list of manila travel sites, while not comprehensive, are places that I have personally visited. Future lists and rankings will be based, in part, on the valuable input from visitors just like YOU.

(10) Manila Bay: Catch the sunset or take a dinner cruise.

(9) Manila Zoo: PETA may have protested here recently; perhaps they should focus more on human issues?

The Zoo has enough foods and vendors to make for an enjoyable stop. Parking is not a problem if you elect to take a jeepney, taxi or rental.Amplify

(6)

SM Mall of Asia: This Mall offers

a smorgasbord of shops, facilities and headline events to captivate almost anyone. The USS George Washington was moored here in the summer of 2009 and I guarantee that the sailors enjoyed their visit along with all the humanitarian projects accomplished during that historic stay. Paramore appeared March 9, 2009. March 14 is the last of the 1st Philippine International Pyromusical Competition dates featuring the Philippines and Australia.

(5) Chinatown in Binondo: Great place to dine and locate hard-2-find items.

Once again, Google Maps for Sightseeing provides a wonderful source to examine before setting out to ChinaTown. If you are taking the Light Rail Transit, #1, be sure to exit at the Carriedo LRT Station‎ or the Doroteo Jose Station.

You can read more information on Chinatown Places, by following this link courtesy of islandphilippines in cooperation with the Department of Tourism National Capital Region (NCR) & the Chinatown Development Authority & The City of Manila.

(4) Malate: Visit one of the 2 Cowboy Grill locations for tasty food and live entertainment. Definitely a good nightlife primer where you can join in with the entertainers and meet locals and foreigners alike in a comfortable & engaging ambiance.

(3) Manila Ocean Park has continued to expand since my first visit and now offers more souvenir shops and eateries to go along with an inexpensive way to see an impressive array of aquatic life without getting wet. Manila Ocean Park A fantastic spot for a family visit & a newly implemented shuttle for your next stop.

Update:4/11/2010 'Acquatica' attraction opens at Manila Ocean Park & features an open-air musical show with a live cast and multimedia effects that include pyrotechnics, synchronized water jets, flame bursts and special computer imaging. The show is called "Maiden of the Sea" and "runs 3 to 4 times a night, depending on the weather, with tickets priced at P300 each."

Manila Ocean Park's Summer Promo is here:

Watch a short Flash Video that I took showing some of the fish/isda at Ocean Park. Yes, Ocean Park is definitely one of the best Manila Travel Sites!

(2) Star City: A thrill seekers perfect stop for an adrenalin rush that is refreshingly affordable. Try to avoid the holiday rush.

(1) Divisoria: Whether you shop at the Tutuban, Olddivisoria, 168 or another mall, be certain to bargain and inquire about wholesale deals.

Want another opinion on Divisoria?

Upcoming Event: Need a ticket to CATS at the Philippine Cultural Center?

ENCHANTED KINGDOM

Not so far from Manila and easy to get to: Enchanted Kingdom (EK) You can check out the park schedule from Manila Travel Sites here! This is one spot that definitely requires some planning since it is not open each day. You can avail of the EK shuttle service or simply take a bus heading to Santa Rosa, Laguna. Then, check with the driver and get dropped off at Waltermart to take a tricycle going to EK.

While traveling around Manila, you will pass many travel agencies and marketers, tempting you to explore further. A way to preview these easily accessible locations is through the Living Asia Channel on the web, if you don't have access to their regular broadcasts.

City Kart Racing brings a European sophistication to the challenge & fun of racing to Manila and they have recently expanded.

In addition to their location in Sucat Paranaque, which attracts corporate sponsored participation, they have now Opened in Makati!

Looking for a hotel in Manila? A flight to Manila? I recommend Manila Top 10 affiliate partner: WEGO. Each time that I have compared pricing, wego is beating the competition with their offerings! I attribute this to their business model which is set-up to be impartial to the nth degree.

Food for thought? Most companies are simply trying to find you the best deal but with a caveat, it funnels YOU to their partners. For example, coming to Manila from Western Canada? Certainly Korean Air offers seat-sales and Canadian Air is inexpensive but perhaps the fact that this site has an established relationship with a travel agency in Ermita, Manila, they are NOT showing you the current best fare on wego which is through Air China.

ricojrod via wordpress lists the Top 10 Scariest Spots in Metro Manila

  1. Ozone Disco, Quezon City
  2. Capitol Medical Center, Quezon City
  3. Balete Drive, Quezon City
  4. Q.C. Ville, Central Ave., Quezon City
  5. Manila Film Center, Pasay City
  6. University of Sto. Tomas, Manila
  7. University of the Philippines, Manila
  8. City Hall, Manila
  9. Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila
  10. Star Mall Alabang, Muntinlupa City

The author writes that Star Mall “stands on the former site of the Alabang Cemetery.”

No wonder it closes at 8 P.M. but I dare suggest that the reek at the area immediately outside the mall entrance is not associated with the “resting.” ;)

Inquirer.net reports on the upcoming Travel Exchange

108 big foreign travel agents to attend 10th RP Travel Exchange.

Mayor "Lim said among the foreign delegates to Phitex 2010 are large representations from outbound travel wholesalers in China, Korea, Japan, Asia Pacific, North America, India, the Middle East, and Europe."

“They will do business with 194 local sellers (of tour packages), thus generating volumes of foreign visitors over the short and long term,” he said."

While this is a challenging time to promote tourism in light of recent events, the opportunity to express goodwill can be considered good timing.

The event will be based out of the Manila Hotel on Tuesday, the 2nd of September.
