Anne wrote on 8/26/2010 about the Rent Control Law and how it impacts Manila Real Estate. Here is an excerpt."In 2009, the Philippine governing administration released a different rent control regulation in the hope of preventing situations involving abusive land lords and extreme spikes in rental premiums for Manila apartments. The regulation covers any and all non commercial accommodations in Manila real estate with a regular rent of as much as P10, 000, and virtually all accommodations in various other urban areas asking for P5, 000 in rent payments every single month." Annual limits on rental increases were said to be set at 7% while the maximum advance asked for could be one month, though this did not address the deposit requirements and whether it compensated for this reduction.
